Infertility

Hypothyroidism is one of the main
causes of infertility in both men and
women.1,2

Infertility affects an estimated 186 million people worldwide, and 8-12% of reproductive age couples.3 Couples struggling with infertility and other thyroid symptoms should get their thyroid levels checked by a medical professional.

Infertility
Infertility is one of many hypothyroidism symptoms

Infertility can be frustrating, and it has many causes. Women with hypothyroidism have difficulty becoming pregnant and those who do conceive have higher rates of spontaneous abortions, low birth weight babies and placental abruption.1

Talk to your doctor

Men with hypothyroidism may have less semen and sperm with decreased forward mobility caused by deformed heads and tails and lower mobility.4

Thyroid symptoms such as infertility can be treated with medication and in many instances fertility is possible. If you are suffering with infertility or any other thyroid symptoms, it is a good idea to get your thyroid checked.
