Feeling tired is a normal part of life, but consistent low energy and fatigue may be indicative of a broader
health issue.1 If you find yourself constantly asking “Why am I so tired?” a simple thyroid test may be able
to provide answers.
Despite being a small gland located in the neck, the thyroid plays a big role in controlling and regulating
the body’s metabolism.2 When a thyroid is underactive and not producing sufficient hormones, your
body’s metabolism slows down making you feel low in energy and fatigued.3
This condition is known as hypothyroidism and hypothyroidism symptoms often go unrecognized, getting
mistakenly attributed to aging.4
If you feel constantly fatigued, you should consult with your doctor about getting a thyroid test done.
